Drive to Assagaon, a more matured village over its neighbours, Anjuna or Vagator, also called fulacho gav or the village of flowers. Birdcall are omnipresent as you walk through the scissor shaped stretch of the village, exploring the look, culture and feel of the place. Assagaon is also a paradise of food lovers, with a number of avant garde restaurants to trail through, be it Jamun Goa with it’s take on Goa’s classic or Villa Blanche Bistro, a hidden gem with mosaic tiles & calming blue walls serving eclectic cuisine from Italian to German. Walk through the white sands of Morjim beach, one of the less crowded beach for the feel of Goa’s unadulterated sun and sand. One of the many unexplored beaches in Goa, Morjim is nestled amidst verdant locales and is one of the most famous beach for bird-watching be it Sand plover, Cuckoo, Sandpiper or Kingfisher. If you are in the breeding season, be lucky to see the endangered baby Olive Ridley Turtles crack through their shells and paddle their way through the sands.

Set out on a exploration spree across the different churches of North Goa, be it the quaint Church of Mae de Deus in Saligao built in 1873 and famous for it’s Gothic spires & pristine white walls or St. Anthony Church of Siolim dedicated to St Anthony of Padua. Luck if you are here on the 13th of June, as it is celebrated with grand fervor on the Sunday following the 13th, preceeded by a 13 day Novena known as Trezen.
